Ulu – mémoire et force féminine
Cette bague s’inspirent de la forme traditionnelle de l’ulu, le couteau utilisé depuis des millénaires par les femmes inuites et autochtones du Nord. Outil de survie, de soin, de transmission, l’ulu servait autant à préparer la nourriture, à couper les cheveux des enfants, qu’à sculpter les blocs de neige des habitations. À travers cette forme épurée, j’ai voulu rendre hommage à cette force douce et discrète, à la puissance du geste féminin, à la mémoire ancrée dans l’objet. Le pendentif devient alors symbole de résilience, de savoir ancestral et de beauté fonctionnelle.
Ulu – Memory and Feminine Strength
This ring is inspired by the traditional shape of the ulu, a knife used for thousands of years by Inuit and Indigenous women of the North. A tool of survival, care, and transmission, the ulu was used for everything from preparing food and cutting children’s hair to carving the snow blocks of their homes. Through this refined shape, I wanted to pay tribute to that gentle, quiet strength — to the power of feminine gesture and the memory carried within objects. The pendant becomes a symbol of resilience, ancestral knowledge, and functional beauty.
